Welcome to stress-free walking.
Doncaster Outsiders walk in North Yorkshire, the Peak District and the South Pennines. Relax. You are in safe hands. You don't have to worry about anything.
Founded in the 1970's, Doncaster Outsiders welcome you for a great full day out. Come join our friendly group.
Our walks are generally linear, supported by our luxury coach company Buckley’s. Hence we avoid masses of cars descending on local communities. Doncaster Outsiders' walk plan changes from year to year. You can expect somewhere fresh and off the beaten track.

From January 2026 the price is £20 per walk for non-members. There are currently regular spaces for non-members with the opportunity to apply for full membership. Please contact Viv at doncaster.outsiders@gmail.com to book your place.
The coach leaves Doncaster Market Car Park at 8.00am (parking charges now apply). Take your pick of the Long walk (about ten miles) or the Shorter walk (about seven miles). Our walk ends at a cosy pub for a drink and a chat. After a break you can opt for an afternoon walk (up to three miles) or simply relax with our other members.

We advise walking shoes/boots as we often cover uneven terrain, basic footpaths and fells with mud; waterproofs in case of rain; a fleece for warmth, and a drink/sandwiches. A full suggested ‘KIT LIST‘ is available by clicking here or on the menu.
Please read the Responsibilities page so that you know what to expect from our well organised walks.
There are two walking routes. Choose from the Long walk (about 10 miles) and the Shorter walk (about 7 miles). Each have at least one refreshment stop. We arrive at a welcoming pub, in the early afternoon. We do not route march (if it’s still too fast tell the leader) and there is time for brief photo opportunities.
The coach generally departs around 4:30pm to pick up the afternoon walkers and return to Doncaster.
